FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: With several days of temperatures in the triple digits forecast for the week beginning June 19, 2017, the City of Pittsburg is opening cooling centers where people can come and seek refuge from the heat.  Sites will have air conditioning and water, and unfortunately pets cannot be accommodated at any of these locations. 

Pittsburg Community Cooling Centers
Wednesday (6/21) and Thursday (6/22)
• Senior Community Center, 300 Presidio Lane – Hours extended until 9p
• Buchanan Community Center, 4150 Harbor Street - Open from 6p-9p
• Railroad Book Depot, 650 Railroad Avenue- Hours are extended until 9p
• Library Conference Room, 80 Power Avenue – Open Thursday from 5p-9p

Pittsburg Community Cooling Centers
Thursday (6/22) ONLY
• California Theatre, 351 Railroad Avenue- Thursday from 5p-9p
• Pittsburg Library, 80 Power Avenue– Open Thursday from 1p to 8p
