Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program Waiting List

The Housing Choice Voucher Program provides assistance to help people afford safe, decent and sanitary housing that is privately owned. The Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) provides funding to the City of Pittsburg Housing Authority to administer the program in Pittsburg. The family pays a portion of their income in rent to their landlord and the City of Pittsburg Housing Authority pays the difference.

When will I hear from someone about my application?
Please submit a written request to check the status. If your application was selected based on the preference & lottery system, you were given a registration code so you can check your status at this portal web site: https://ha.pittsburgca.gov/?p=1. If your application was not selected or your name was removed, you will not see your name or any status. 

What if I don’t get selected for the waiting list this time?
You can reapply when the waiting list opens again (undetermined at this time). 

How do I report address changes if my application is selected?
Applicants are required to notify the Housing Authority when a family's address changes. You must submit an address change in writing to the Housing Authority.
