**On August 16, 2021, the City of Pittsburg adopted amendments to the Pittsburg Municipal Code regarding commercial cannabis businesses, including retail, cultivation, delivery, and microbusinesses, among other. The City Council also adopted a resolution limiting the types and number of permit available, and further establishing areas where these businesses may operate. The City of Pittsburg is now accepting applications for Commercial Cannabis Permits. All preliminary proposals shall include the following submittal items:

Project description and/or business plan
Completed application form (Note: the City is currently working to update this form. In the meantime, this form can be used for all types of applications.)
Signed reimbursement agreement
$10,000 initial deposit
Any additional information on the applicant’s background, experience operating cannabis-based or other businesses, or other information.

Applications deemed acceptable by City Staff will be selected for one or more follow-up meetings with City staff. Due to the limited number of permits available, the City reserves the right to pursue only those applications determined to be acceptable (e.g., consistent with the City’s municipal code and/or prior City direction), and may reject an application for any reason.

The City also reserves the right to temporarily suspend acceptance of new applications at any time. STAFF ACCEPTANCE OF A PRELIMINARY APPLICATION DOES NOT AUTHORIZE ANY COMMERCIAL BUSINESS OR SERVICE TO OPERATE WITH CANNABIS IN THE CITY.
