Every other year a sub-committee of CAC members and two City Council members participate in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) process. CDBG is a federally funded program, which assists in the financing of many projects that serve the people of Pittsburg, such as housing rehabilitation, non-profit programs, and social services.

The CDBG Sub-Committee:

• Reviews CDBG applications for compliance with national objectives and community needs
• Hears presentations from applicants
• Makes recommendations to the City Council on projects and programs that may receive funding

The City Council approves funding for the projects and programs.
