The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District will host a meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at Pittsburg City Hall to discuss the impending closure of Fire Station 87 on West Leland Road in Pittsburg. The closure is
necessary due to reduced revenues from declining property taxes,
coupled with increasing costs to the Fire District for personnel and general operations. The fire
station is scheduled to close on July 8, 2013.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, Third Floor, City Hall at 65 Civic Avenue in Pittsburg. The Fire Chief will be joined by members of the Board of Directors at this meeting. Fire District
staff and Board members will be available to answer questions regarding the closure and efforts
to reduce the impact to the community during the meeting.
Date: Monday, June 24th
Time: 7:00pm
Location: Pittsburg City Hall, Council Chambers, 65 Civic Ave.
