The City of Pittsburg is processing a City-initiated, City-wide project to amend the text within Titles 5, 8, 9, and 18 of the Pittsburg Municipal Code. The proposed project includes amendments to various sections of the Pittsburg Municipal Code, related to the marketing, sale, and use of alcohol, tobacco, and cannabis. Specifically, the text amendments are to revise the requirements for a Tobacco Retailer License, limit smoking in specific locations, update the Social Host Ordinance, add requirements for cannabis businesses, and adopt Alcohol Performance Standards, consistent with state law.
Once available, a copy of the draft Creating of Healthy Communities Ordinance will be available for public review at City of Pittsburg, Planning Division, 65 Civic Avenue, Pittsburg CA. 94565, and a link will be posted on this webpage for online viewing. Printed copies are available upon request, and consistent with the Master Fee Schedule, a fee of $0.10 per page will be collected for printing.
Prior to the adoption, publication, or enforcement of an Ordinance, the City of Pittsburg’s Planning Commission must recommend Pittsburg City Council adoption of the Ordinance, and the City Council must adopt the Ordinance. This process for adoption of a new Ordinance takes place by way of public hearings.
